Former officer arrested for child pornography

A former Waynesboro animal control officer has been arrested for computer pornography and child exploitation.

Michael Todd Boswell, 25, of Ponderosa Road, was arrested last Tuesday by agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).

According to Gary Nicholson, special agent in charge of the Thomson GBI office, agents began investigating Boswell after receiving information from a cybercrime GBI unit in Atlanta. The charge, he said, is related to the possession of child pornography.

According to a spokesperson for the City of Waynesboro, Boswell was employed as the city's animal control officer for 10 months, beginning in August 2004.
