Miss Morgan Franks becomes bride of Mr. Edenfield in candlelight ceremony

Miss Virginia Morgan Franks became the bride of Robert Bradham Edenfield in a candlelight ceremony Saturday, July 28, 2007 at six o'clock in the evening at Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta with the Rev. Marvin Simpson of Elon, N.C. officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jimmy and Ginny Franks of Waynesboro. The groom's parents are Robert and Sue Edenfield of Waynesboro.

The couple exchanged vows before an altar setting of 100 lighted candles, ferns and palms accented with two massive arrangements of red and white roses, white orchids and sun flowers.

Identical massive flower arrangements flanked by ferns and palms accented two wrought iron fence panels with center medallions, custom-made by the groom's father, lined the entrance to the ceremonial area. Palm filled urns completed the setting.

Waynesboro Florists and Gifts and Fat Man's Florist provided decorations for the wedding and reception.

Mitchell Youmans of Waynesboro coordinated music for the wedding. Selections included Humoresque, Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, Largo from Xerxes Liebestraum, Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F Major, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Air on G String, Cannon in D Major, Prelude to Te Deum and The Wedding March.

Miss Whitney Webster of Waynesboro sang "Bless the Broken Road" during the lighting of the unity candle.

Matron of honor was Suzy McIntyre of Hodges, S.C., aunt of the bride. Maids of honor were the bride's sisters, Whitney Franks and Meridith Franks of Waynesboro.

Bridesmaids were Jennifer Raborn of Warner Robins and Kristen Johnson of Charleston, S.C. friends of the bride; Lindsay Cucci-Bradham of Jacksonville, N.C., friend of the bride and groom; and Jackie Edenfield of Tybee Island, the groom's aunt.

The bridal attendants wore black strapless satin gowns fashioned with an A-line skirt accented with a cascading train. Each attendant carried a cascading bouquet of white orchids, red and white roses and sunflowers.

Junior bridesmaid was Stephanie Cucci of Waynesboro, friend of the bride and groom. She wore a black satin fashioned gown with spaghetti straps and a rousch side ball.

She carried a miniature cascading bouquet of white orchids, red and white roses and sunflowers.

Rhylie Hillis of Waynesboro, friend of the bride, was flowergirl. Her gown was champagne colored satin fashioned with spaghetti straps, pleated waist and an organza overlay skirt accented with beaded lace appliqués on the skirt and neckline.

The groom's father served as his best man. Usher-groomsmen were Russell Crowder and Daniel Crowder, both of Hodges S.C., cousins of the bride; Chance Franks of Waynesboro, brother of the bride; and friends of the groom, Daniel Jenkins of Atlanta, Chris Youmans of Statesboro, Ken Corley of Martinez, Chris Nelson of Martinez, Trey Tucker of Huntersville N.C., and Ryan Brewer of Macon.

Ringbearer was Gray McIntyre and Evin McIntyre of Hodges, S.C., cousins of the bride. Train bearers were Steven Crowder and Ben McIntyre of Hodges, S.C., cousins of the bride.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents was radiant in a designer ivory strapless satin gown with side draping adorned with pearl and rhinestone beaded champagne lace appliqués flowing into a chapel train. The bride's rhinestone tiara and tri-layered veils of ivory and champagne illusion flowed into a simple blusher, an elbow length veil with ivory flower and vine motif accented beaded edges, and a cathedral length one-tier veil with a pencil edging adorned with rhinestone starlight design.

She carried a cascading bouquet of white orchids, red and white roses, and sunflowers.

Lisa Cucci of Waynesboro, friend of the bride and groom, directed the wedding.

Reception

Following the ceremony the bride and groom's parents entertained wedding guests with a reception in the cultural center.

Tables covered with white tablecloths and black overlays held tussie mussie arrangements filled with white orchids, red and white roses and glass hurricanes filled with glass rocks and ivory candles.

Doris Arnold of Lenox, Ga., aunt of the bride and Denna Griffin of Sparks, Ga., cousin of the bride served the bride's cake.

Jeanine Crowder of Hodges, S.C., aunt of the bride, served the groom's cake.

Fran Watson of Midville was caterer.

Steve Chappell of Augusta provided music for the reception.

After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple is residing in Waynesboro.

Rehearsal Dinner

On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom's parents, entertained the wedding party and guests with a seated rehearsal dinner at the Enterprise Mill in Augusta.

The brides' chosen colors of black and white were used in the table décor of white cloths overlaid in black. Massive arrangements of red and white roses, white orchids and sunflowers adorned serving tables. Smaller arrangements of roses accented each table elegantly set for dining.

The groom chose this time to present his groomsmen with gifts.

Parties

Sue Edenfield was hostess for a bridesmaid's luncheon on July 27 at the Partridge Inn in Augusta.

Bridesmaids, mothers, grandmothers and other guests enjoyed a seated luncheon in the Champion Room.

The bride chose this time to present her attendants with gifts.

Eddie and Bonnie Taylor entertained the engaged couple with a dinner on Saturday, June 12, at their home on Lake Bluff Drive in Waynesboro.

Aunts of the groom were hostesses for a bridal shower on March 10 at the home of Mary Lynn Edenfield on Victory Drive.

Hostesses were Mrs. Edenfield,Barbara Jenkins, Jackie Edenfield and Pattie Edenfield.

Friends of the bride and groom were hostesses for a briday shower on March 17 at Wisteria Hall.

Hostesses were Lisa Cucci, Gail Webster and Melinda Prescott.
