Applauds Burke courthouse staff

On Aug. 2, I got to do something that I have not been able to do for a couple of years - I spent the day at the Burke County Court House, in State Court.

I took notice that the staff there had come a long way since I last visited in 2003.

Items that were labored through then went very smoothly; the coordination of witnesses and paperwork flowed effortlessly.

The judge took time to listen to recommendations from his staff and his sentencing was fair and consistent throughout the day.

My compliments to Judge Daniel and his staff for a job well done with such an aggressive schedule.

I recommend some of our younger generation take time to visit a session for an educational experience of the judicial system.
