Mrs. Glenda J. Humphrey Glenda Jenkins Humphrey, age 64, of Waynesboro died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 4, at 1 p.m. at Faith Temple Church with the Rev. Mildred Spencer and the Rev. Carolyn Schneider officiating. Burial was at Faith Temple Church Cemetery. She lay in state at the church from noon until 1 p.m. She was born in Screven County and had lived in Waynesboro for the last 34 years. She was a retired nurse and a member of Faith Temple Church. She had worked for Bethany Home for nine years and at Burke County Health Dept. for 18 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Hubert Jenkins and a brother, Carson Jenkins. Survivors include her hus- band, Eugene T. Humphrey of Waynesboro; mother, Myrtle Joyner Jenkins of Sylvania; sisters, Elouise J. Wilson of Sylvania, Norma "Lee" J. Crawley and Lois J. Reed, both of Savannah; a brother, Carroll "Bull" Jenkins of Statesboro; and several other family members. Pallbearers were Carl Ward Jr., Jason Jenkins, Greg Joyner, Willard Jenkins, Neil Dickey, Billy Jenkins, Dustin Lambert, Ronnie Clayton and Johnny Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
