Mr. James Lloyd "Jimmy" Jenkins

Mr. James Lloyd "Jimmy" Jenkins, age 67, of Townsend, Ga., beloved husband of Carolyn Morgan Jenkins entered into rest at the Veterans Adm inistration Hospital in Augusta on Aug. 10, 2007 after a brief illness.

Funeral Services were held on Monday at 4 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church in Alexander with the Rev. Wayne Dixon and the Rev Marshall Singletary officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins lay in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Jenkins was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Alexander Ga., a board member of Sapelo Fish Club, Friends of Shellman Bluff and also a member of Coastal Consurvary. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Friends and loved ones will fondly remember Mr. Jenkins as "Super Star."

Mr. Jenkins was survived by his wife, Carolyn Morgan Jenkins of Townsend; a son, Michael Keith "Kip" (wife, Lynn) Jenkins of Alexander; three daughters, Cathy (husband, Troy) Allen of Martinez, Ga., JaLaine (husband, Michael) Coleman and Stacy Gene Whitehurst, both of Vidalia, Ga.; brothers, Johnny (wife, Sara) Jenkins, Gene (wife, Nancy) Jenkins Sr., Jerry (wife, Linda) Jenkins, and Greg (wife, Susan) Coursey; a sister, Cathy (husband, Duane) McAffee; all of Waynesboro, Ga.; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr., Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents, Mallory and Sadie W. Jenkins.

Pallbearers were Gene Jenkins Jr., Chad Jenkins, Steve Jenkins, Brad Jenkins, Brett Baxley, James Hollinsworth, Jody Prescott and William McNeely.

Honorary pallbearers were Herbert Hillis, Glen Sikes, Jimmy Miller, Jutt Wynne, Jimmy Allen, Toby Lovett, Randy Dixon, Gerald Dixon, Cale Odum, Sapelo Fish Club, and Friends of Shellman Bluff.

The family received friends at the Robertson's Heritage Chapel in Waynesboro on Sunday Aug. 12, from 7-9 p.m.
