Domestic Violence Committee

Burke County Against Family Violence will meet 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Waynesboro Police Department courtroom. Members are encouraged to attend.

Class reunion

The Jenkins County High School Class of 1977 reunion will be held Homecoming weekend, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 12- 13. Invitations have been mailed. Registration and fees are due by Friday, Aug. 31. Late church news

Fellowship Baptist Church will celebrate its Men and Women's Day Sunday, Aug. 19. Sunday School will begin 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11. Alberta Anderson and Emanuel Larkin are guest speakers. The public is invited. The Rev. Dr. James Thomas is pastor.

NAACP

The Burke County Branch of the NAACP will meet 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Mt. Olive AME Church, located at 527 W. Seventh St., Waynesboro.

Sarah Hart

A reception for Sarah Hart, "The Jewel of Jones Avenue," will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, beginning at 5 p.m., at Coradell's Wedding Chapel on Academy Avenue. The public is invited.
