Bertha Lockhart Bertha W. Lockhart of Louisville received a Doctorate of Divinity on June 3, 2007 from Agape International Christian University, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She is the mother of six children and the wife of the Rev. Dr. John A. Lockhart.
She is native of Burke County.

Cleveland Johnson of Sardis received the Cone Scholarship from Georgia Southern University.
The $2,000 scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who have a minimum SAT score of 1200 and a grade point average of 3.2. Selection is based on a strong high school academic record, leadership experience and extracurricular involvement.
Tara Lewis, a senior at GSU majoring in justice studies, was named to the president's list for summer term 2007.
To be named to the president's list, a student must have a 4.0 grade point average and a minimum of 12 credit hours for the semester.
Joy Roberts
Joy Roberts of Beulah Chapter No. 116, Millen District No. 16, Order of the Eastern Star, placed third in the silver category during Lillian E. Blake's Queen Extravaganza.
Chapters in the jurisdiction of Georgia raised $162,352 for youth scholarships, which was nearly $10,000 more than the previous year.
Robert Stewart
Robert Stewart of Keysville was named to the honor list at Oxford College, the two-year liberal arts division of Emory University, for the 2007 spring semester.
Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher to be named to the honor list.
Robert is the son of Dianne W. Stewart and Bobby G. Stewart.
Sam Franklin
Sam Franklin has been named to Sewanee University of the South's dean's list for his studies at the University of Madrid during Easter semester.
This summer, he served as a translator for the Lavonia Baptist Church during a mission trip to Mexico and has volunteered services to the doctors and researchers at Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
He is the son of Wade and Pam Franklin of Midville.
