Miss Rowell, Mr. Diehl exchange vows

Ethan Payne of Athens served as best man. became the bride of Adam McKenzie Diehl 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Waynesboro. The Rev. Dr. G. Al Wright officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Rowell Jr. of Waynesboro.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth G. Diehl Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.

The outer doors of the church were decorated with wreaths of pink peonies, and the pews were lined with arrangements of peonies, hydrangeas, queen anne's lace and novia roses in a palette of pink and ivory.

Greeting guests were program attendants Halle Hill, Julia Hinson, Anna Marie Blackburn and Sally Kate Blackburn.

Musicians were Jacob Gee on the mandolin, guitarist Nathan Thompson, pianist Andrew Parker, guitarist and vocalist Nathan Brett and pianist and vocalist Asher Payne.

Song selections included "Be Thou My Vision" and a solo of Bruce Springstein's "If I Should Fall Behind." The processional entered to "Canon in D."

Groomsmen were Van Diehl of Tuscaloosa, Ala., brother of the groom; Will Rowell of Waynesboro, brother of the bride; Clayton DeMooney of Charleston, S.C., and Blakeley Winslow of Charlottesville, Va.

Kimberly Salter Dixon of Waynesboro served as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Andrea Whitaker of Dahlonega, Amy Sasser of Waynesboro, Cara Ray of Rome and Elizabeth Hodgeson of Charlottesville, Va.

They wore Tiffany blue tealength halter gowns of silk dupioni adorned with brown sashes.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore an ivory raw silk ball gown with an embroidered bodice, sweetheart neckline and lace pickups along the skirt.

She and her bridesmaids each carried a bouquet of pink peonies tied with ivory silk ribbon.

Reception

A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, was held at the Wardlow building and adjoining Bickley-Santos Garden.

After a honeymoon trip to Bath, England, the couple make their home in Chattanooga, Tenn.
