Ogeechee Behavioral Health Services has a new administrator.
Victoria Toy Richbourg of Sylvania has been named the new executive director.
The comm unity health provider operates four locations in Waynesboro, including an adult behavioral health services clinic on Shadrack Street, an adult day program on West Sixth Street, a child and adolescent program on Park Drive and a service center on Highway 25 South.
The center also runs locations in Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins and Screven counties.
Richbourg replaced J. Frank Brantley, who retired June 30 after more than 30 years of service to the state.
Richbourg has been working with Ogeechee as the Developmental Disabilities Center Director in Screven and Jenkins counties since 2004. She is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) and Developmental Disability Professional (DDP).
"Working with Ogeechee as a center director has been a very rewarding and enriching experience," Richbourg said. "Having a Downs Syndrome son of my own, my work at the center was a perfect fit to begin my behavioral health career."
During her time at Ogeechee, she has begun her doctoral studies and will complete her course work by May of 2008. She will be applying as a doctoral candidate for a Doctor of Education in counseling psychology.
Richbourg holds a master's degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in counseling.
While in graduate school, she served as a Youth Development Extension Agent in Sylvania from 1999 to 2004.
She is a member of the Medical Reserve Corp of Georgia and chairs the board for the Screven County Community Collaborative.
The Ogeechee Community Service Board provides mental health, developmental disability and addictive disease services and is funded partially through the Department of Human Resources.
