SCV

The Brigadier General John C. Carter Camp Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet Monday, July 30, at Mobley's Restaurant.

The program presentation will be on Secessonville.

Dinner will begin 6:30 p.m., and the meeting will follow at 7.

Clothes drive

Pine Hill Baptist Church will hold a free clothes and school supplies drive 9 a.m. Saturday, July 28, at the city park in Waynesboro.

Organization class

The Center for New Beginnings will hold a Make and Take: Organization Class 3:30- 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, for elementary school students, and 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, for middle and high school students.

Freshman orientation

Burke County High School will hold a freshman orientation for rising ninth grade students and their parents Thursday, July 26, from 8:30-11:45 a.m. at the school.

Topics of discussion will include dress code, behavioral guidelines and extra-curricular activities, to name a few. A tour of the facility will also be given.

All incoming freshmen and their parents are invited.
