Music

Voice of Praise, a nine-member men's group from South Boston, Va., will perform at the Hephzibah Mennonite Church on Rheney Road 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 20.

The public is invited.

Splash in the 'Boro

The Sportsmen Social Club will sponsor a trip to the water park in Statesboro Saturday, July 21.

The bus will depart from the Waynesboro Police Department at 9 a.m. and will return at 5:30 p.m.

Children ages 7-13 are welcome, and the trip is on a firstcome, first-serve basis. A consent form must be signed.

NAACP

The Burke County Branch of the NAACP will hold its monthly meeting 9 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at Mt. Olive AME Church, located at 527 W. Seventh St., Waynesboro.

Bill Gothard seminar

A Bill Gothard seminar will begin at Burke County High School auditorium 6:30-9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 22, and will end Saturday, July 28.

The Sunday night session is free to the public, and there is a fee for the remainder of the seminar.

Clothes drive

A free clothes and school supplies drive will be held Saturday, July 28, at the Southern Bank pavilion in Waynesboro, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The event is sponsored by Christian Extravaganza.

Late church news

St. Clair Missionary Baptist Church will continue revival services through Friday, July 20, at 7:30 nightly. The Rev. Delbrid Nero of Spring Grove Baptist Church in North Augusta will be minister for the week. The Rev. Tommie Walker, pastor, invites the public.

****** The annual youth retreat at Boggs Academy will be held Sunday-Tuesday, July 22-24.

Registration will begin at 4 p.m. on July 22. The retreat is open to children ages 8-18. The theme is "Lord Forgive Me for I Have Sinned."

The John Mulling Youth Group of Midville United Methodist Church will hold a series of events featuring the Inside Out Praise and Worship Team from Oakey Grove Baptist Church beginning 6 p.m. Saturday, July 21.

There will be food and fellowship, and the public is invited.
