Biker hurt in deer collision

A Burke County biker was injured when he collided with a deer.

According to a report filed at the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Woodrow Harvey Jr. was driving his motorcycle on Highway 80 Sunday when a deer stepped into his path.

Harvey struck the deer, then lost control of his Yamaha and wrecked.

Deputies say he was banged up but conscious and alert. He was treated at the Medical College of Georgia and later released.
