S.G.A. honors students

S.G.A. Elementary School honored its students in ceremonies held on May 15.

Kindergarten students were honored for most improved attitude, perfect attendance and enthusiastic reading. Haley Weeks, Reginald Holmes, Jahira Jones and Rachel James received Most Improved Attitude certificates. Andrew Roberts, Ta'Keria Bonner, Sheldon Lanier and Jacob Elliott earned BEAR (Be Excited About Reading) awards for reading.

S.G.A.'s first through fifth grade students who had excelled in areas of academics, service and leadership were recognized.

Academic awards included those students with the highest academic average in each classroom. Students receiving this award were Austin Milner, Cody Hogan, Cordaijah McBride, Erika Gomez, Larry Holloway, Makayla Conner, Maryann Burke, Kenteira Jones, Ashley Diaz, Demonica Jackson, Crystal Johns, Will Chambers, Rebecca Schiffer, Chance Jenkins, Monteneque Dukes, Jesus Luna, Raven Rogers, Akeely Smith and Makinizi Hoover.

Classroom Academic Improvement awards went to Devonte Dixon, Shaquana Brigham, David Bessinger, Lance Jenkins, Ashlynn Bell, Safariea Britt, Morgan Clark, Orshakayla Wright, Maria Bargeron, Tiara Cooper, Jesse Bargeron, Seymoun Mack, Jamesia Boatwright, Rayon Walker, Kenisha Stapleton, Christian Hightower, Marc Waldun, Conswella Fleming and Tony Scott.

Music awards were earned by Sekheem Scott, Demonta Lewis, Carlos Bargeron, Ashley Diaz, Austin Thomas and Danielle Sapp.

Outstanding Art Student awards went to Carmen Bargeron, Tyreek Council, Sarah Callison, Robert Fleming, Alexandria Dickey and Alexia Frank.

Students honored as Outstanding Physical Education students were Emily Pate, Brian McClain, Destinee Coleman, Tiara Cooper, Chance Jenkins and Cameron Washington.

Each homeroom teacher chose a student who most exemplified the characteristics for good citizenship and those students were Jaylon Kelly, Dallas Rogers, Timara Cates, Arianna Walker, Carlos Bargeron, Shelby Davis, Denisha Gaines, Jordan Hamm, Amari Ray, Kelsey Sielagoski, Oviuncia Rouse, Will Chambers, Alexandria Dickey, Shanterial Heath, Lindsey Elliott, Diontre' Roberson, Lukendra Jones, Wesley Sirmons and Makinizi Hoover.

Most Improved Attitude awards for each classroom went to Kevon Cunningham, Armani Bunbury, Jahnia McDaniel, Wayne Herrin, Daireon Fleming, Nicholas Brown, Alvin Perkins, Trey Gibbens, Kasandra Moore, Koltan Weeks, Precious Cooper, Morika Grubbs, Brittany Matthews, Damion Heath, Maleik Butler, Tyler Jarvis, Tiffany Bisson, Donnielle Sapp and Nicholas Quick.

BEAR awards went to students recognized as the most avid readers in their classes. These students were Ebony Simon, Cody Hogan, Jada Tyler, Jimica Jones, Kelvin Smith, Sarah Callison, Tanzir Jackson, Jacob Roberts, Robert Fleming, Kelsey Sielagoski, Jordan Williams, Will Chambers, Don'Jane Blockett, Shanterial Heath, Amanda Godbee, Jesus Luna, Breanna Dixon, Akeely Smith and Justin Jackson.

Students who attained the highest number of Accelerated Reader points in each class were Austin Milner, Cordaijah McBride, Sarah Callison, Erika Gomez, Kelvin Smith, Jatarri Tanksley, Armani Bunbury, Jacob Roberts, Diontre' Roberson, Amanda Godbee, Shanterial Heath, Will Chambers, Lamondo Ellison, Akeely Smith, Breanna Dixon, Crystal Johns, Rebecca Schiffer, Demonica Jackson, Jesus Luna and Justin Jackson.

Twenty-nine students had perfect attendance for the school year. They were Michael Atkinson, Ta'Keria Bonner, Shantasia Jones, Trinite Boston, Alecia Doe, Antwan Hopkins, Demonta Lewis, Malcomn Bonner, Tyrese Wright, Jy'ne Walker, Alexis Lewis, Breon Evans, Victoria Jacobs, Byron Oliver, Samiera Lovett, Scott Butler, Precious Cooper, Emily Long, Kierra Brigham, Laquiana Hearing, Kenisha Stapleton, Tremone Walker, Teddrick Stokes, K.C. Lewis, Kendrickus Walker, Jaquay Williams, Nicholas Quick, Jmyka Williams and Shelton Carver.

Fire Marshalls for the year were also honored. They were Megan Badger, Destin Coleman, JaQuan Blockett, Alexis Lewis, Kaydreon Brown, Jatarri Tanksley, Jacob Roberts, Adrian Johnson, Asley Diaz, Micah Malmberg, Clayton Rogers, DeMonica Jackson, Emily Long, Tyler Roberson, Mason Roberts, Justin Golphin, Franklin Bonner, Kenny Dixon, Chance Jenkins, Keyon Williams, Darrencia Walker, Tremone Walker, Jason Bogdan, Sakayla Thomas, Juwan Gardner, Jordan Kelly, Logan Abrams, Jaquay Williams, Justin Jackson and Amanda Johnson.

Student Council members recognized for service were Ka'chyra Holmes, Shanterial Heath, Darrell Kentle, Alexandria Dickey, Will Chambers, Kelsey Sielagoski, Crystal Johns, Nautica Jones, Jamelia Cooper, Akeely Smith and Amari Ray.

Receiving recognition for being flag attendants were Breanna Dixon, Logan Abrams, Cameron Washington, Jordan Kelly, Donnielle Sapp and Thristan Gould.

Deriutae Butler, Adrian Ruffin, Sarah Smith and Monteneque Dukes each received a trophy for winning the Young Georgia Author's Writing Competition.
