      S.G.A. Elementary School honored its students in ceremonies held on May 15. Kindergarten students were honored for most improved attitude, perfect attendance and enthusiastic reading. Haley Weeks, Reginald Holmes, Jahira Jones and Rachel James received Most Improved Attitude certificates.

      A local teen is spending his summer learning more about agriculture and the Cooperative Extension Service. Sherman Jenkins Jr., a junior at Burke County High School, was selected for the TEAM Success! program through Fort Valley State University's Cooperative Extension Service.
