Terrific' pig stars this Saturday
Football flick rescheduled
By Anne Marie Kyzer

This Saturday, one "terrific" pig will take over the big screen in the Waynesboro City Park.

This weekend's Movies Under the Stars feature is sponsored by Delta Termite and Pest Control and presented by DOOR (Downtown Organization of Retailers).

The flick, which features a loving arachnid, "some pig" and their barnyard friends, will begin at dark after several activities fresh from the farm, according to DOOR chairman Nan Palmer.

A seed spitting contest will kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the tennis courts and a greased cantaloupe tossing contest will follow at 8.

Winners could claim a soundtrack of the movie or other great prizes.

Palmer said the most anticipated activity will likely be the Kiss a Pig contest, which will give one lucky, or unlucky, winner the chance to pucker up for a piglet just before the movie begins.

Buckets have been placed around town bearing the names of Delta Termite and Pest Control employees. The employee whose bucket receives the most donations will have to smack lips, or snouts, with a special swine at 8:30 Saturday night.

Children can enjoy the show from the comfort of hay bales, and all are welcome to bring their blankets and folding chairs for a seat.

Admission is $1, and children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn, candy and drinks will be for sale.

The Movies Under the Stars feature scheduled for last weekend has been moved to Saturday, June 16, due to the rain. The movie features a high school football team that faces up to its biggest fears. It is sponsored by First National Bank of Waynesboro.
