BCHS Spring Sports Banquet

Burke County High School honored its spring athletes at a ceremony last Monday. Outstanding athletes in each sport were recognized, along with scholar athletes, seniors and scholarship recipients. Scholar athletes included, front row: Mollie Mitchell, Marnecia Mack, Kayla Smith, Eboney Cooper and Heather Ellis; and back row: Stephen Quick, Brittany Lambert, Stephen Young, Aliegha Brigham, Mitchell Davis and Samorya Evans. Matthew Keadle, Shaniece Mells and Kailee Thames are not pictured.
Track and field team honors went to, front row: Alaytra Carswell (Best Running), Jaquetta Chandler (Most Improved Runner) and Aliegha Brigham (Best Field), and back row: Mitchell Davis (Coach's Award), Damien Johnson (Best Field), Damien Batten (Most Improved) and Cornelius Washington (Best Running). Shaniece Mells (Coach's Award) is not pictured. Purvis Dukes coaches track and field with assistant coaches
The Booster Club presented $1,000 scholarships to Mitchell Davis and Samorya Evans.
Baseball honors went to Zachary Eubanks (Future Bear), Daniel Braswell (Most Improved), Stephen Quick (Coach's Award and Best Offensive Player), Matt Keadle (Best Defensive Player) and Brandon Love (Bear Down Award). Todd Booker coached the varsity team with assistant coaches Phillip Thompson, Sean Tiernan and James Epps.
Golf honors went to Mollie Mitchell (MVP), Mallorie Shaw (Most Improved), John Keller (Coach's Award), Lauren Pavao (Coach's Award) and Jorie Marchman (Future Bear). Jesse James (Future Bear), Logan Fairley (Most Improved) and Buck Bell (MVP) are not pictured. Wade Marchman coaches the golf teams with assistant coach Doug Moore.
Tennis honors went to, left to right, front row: Mollie Mitchell (MVP), AnnNell Byne (Most Improved) and May Kate Holland (Coach's Award); and back row: Chad Parrish (Coach's Award), Stephen Young (MVP) and Brandon Philpot (Most Improved). Amanda Duncan coaches the tennis teams with assistant coaches Nicole Weirauch and Stephen Cunningham.
