      A couple of fishing rods stand in the corner of his office, but they're just collecting dust. Purvis Dukes hasn't had time to go after any trophy bass these last few months, though he's been aching to get in a boat. The avid fisherman has been tied up landing region sports trophies instead.

BCHS hoopster to play in USA Junior Nationals
      One of Burke County's own will be representing Georgia at the USA Junior Nationals. DeVonda Lewis, a rising senior at Burke County High School, was selected for the team after standing out at the all-state high school basketball competition at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
