Saxon performs in Japan
      Courtland Saxon recently performed in Japan with the Gospel Voices of Jackson, Miss. The multi-ethnic choir consists of 18 members and were featured in a two-week concert circuit from May 16-29. Selections from the group included traditional, contemporary and Black gospel styles.

The biggest loser
     Edward Thomas beat out 25 co-workers to become Burke Medical Center's biggest loser. During the 12-week weight loss competition, Thomas lost 18 lbs. and 3.5 percent of his body fat. He won more than $500 for his winning effort. Runners-up were Joyce Sapp and Denise Griffin who lost 14 lbs. each.
