Beach blasted!
JC Burnett doesn't know it yet, but his weight lifting buddies are collecting a lost bet in the most public way possible. Though JC doesn't live here, the last time he visited he entered a beginner's weight lifting contest with the understanding that the loser would be dunked, pied and painted. This Friday, his friends will transport him to the 'Boro Beach Blast where, unbeknownst to him, a dunking booth and pie throwing booth will be waiting. "His punishment won't end with getting sopping wet," said Gene Nettles, a truck driver who helped map out his friend's humiliation. "I'm seeking some of Waynesboro's finest in-shape guys to add insult to injury … once he sees what great shape these guys are in, perhaps he will keep up with his new-found obligation of weight lifting." JC is scheduled to sit in Communities in Schools' (CIS) Big Bounty Dunking Booth from 5-5:30 p.m. For the remainder of the night, he can be found in the pie throwing booth created just for him. For the grand finale, JC will sit in a baby pool while a bucket of paint is dumped over his head. Nettles said all proceeds will benefit CIS.
