Walker ranked second in nation
Jamie Walker, known locally as the "Iron Man," was ranked second in the nation by the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) in the Summit Super Series. Walker accomplished this feat by taking another win at Carolina Dragway on April 29, moving his national ranking to second place, just two rounds shy from being the national leader. He is currently the points leader at Carolina Dragway and is third in points at Ware Shoals Dragway in South Carolina. Walker is also the only driver from Georgia that is ranked in the top 50 drivers. His race team is sponsored by two local Waynesboro sponsors, William Mizell Ford and Cates Firestone. The top six finishers in the IHRA Summit Super Series, along with two wild card drivers, will go to Rockingham, N.C., Oct. 19-21, to face off on Speed T.V. for a prize package valued at over $250,000.
