Warren H. "Doc" Bargeron, Sr.

Warren H. "Doc" Bargeron, Sr., 79, of Sardis entered into rest on Wednesday, March 7, 2007.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, March 10, at 11 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Sirmons and the Rev. Mark Joyner officiating.

Born in Burke County, Georgia on January 22, 1928 to the late Hampton Wesley Bargeron and Marie Taylor Bargeron, he had lived in this area all of his life.

He graduated from Sardis High School and attended ABAC to pursue his veterinary abilities to aid the farmers around Burke County as well as being a farmer himself.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Becton Bargeron; a daughter, Kay Mansell of Augusta; a son, Warren Howell Bargeron Jr. (Patricia) of Sardis; two sisters, Jeanette Chance and Joyce Prince (John) both of Augusta; a granddaughter, Jennifer Mansell; four adopted grandchildren, Maria, Jesse, Carlos, and Carmen Bargeron; and several nieces and nephews.

The family received friends on Friday, March 9, from 7-9 p.m. at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Pallbearers were Ralph Odom, Glenn Odom, Randy Chandler, Mike Chandler, Craig Mobley and Orin Duke.

Honorary pallbearers were Robert Pierce, Gene Ellison, Joe Ellison, Raymond Brookins, Ray Chandler, Leonard Mock, Jack Perry, Carl Perry, Mark Mays, F. A. Black and Otis McMillan.

The family, friends, and pallbearers assembled at the graveside prior to the service.
