A Florida woman was killed when she apparently fell asleep behind the wheel of her SUV on Hancock Landing Road.
Debra Ann Sass, 53, of Hobe Sound, died around 10:15 Sunday morning after she drifted across the highway into a ditch, then overcorrected.
According to a spokesperson from the Georgia State Patrol Office, her Toyota 4-Runner rolled at least three times.
"We think she fell asleep," the spokesperson said, adding that no other vehicles were involved.
Burke County Deputy Coroner Susan Salemi pronounced Sass dead on the scene. The cause of death was multi-system, blunt force trauma.
Salemi said Sass was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected as her vehicle rolled.
The wreck is still under investigation.
