Drugs, cash seized during roadblock

More than 900 drivers were checked during a Highway 56 roadblock Friday afternoon, including two Wadley men who had more than five ounces of cocaine and $2,120 in cash in their pick-up truck.
The Waynesboro Police Department headed up the threehour block with assistance from the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Midville Police Department, Wadley Police Department, Wrens Police Department, Richmond County K-9 Unit and Richmond County DUI Task Force.
Nineteen citations were issued, including six arrests. In addition to the more than $2,000 in cash confiscated during the drug arrests, Waynesboro police also seized a GMC pick-up valued at $6,000.
Those arrested include:
+ Xavier Demond Moye, 21, of 1092 FJ Hart Road, Wadley: possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce);
+ Reginald Tyrone Flournoy, 25, of 1221 FJ Hart Road, Wadley: possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana (less than one ounce);
+ Ike Lee Turner, 44, of 6234 New Mill Trail, Acworth: DUI (second offense) and driving on a suspended license (second offense);
+ Paublo Gutierrez Jr., 20, of 1666 Goshen Road, Augusta: operating a vehicle with suspended registration;
+ Terry Lee Roberson Jr., 17, of 4092 Story Mill Road, Keysville: DUI (drugs), violation of license restrictions and no license on person; and
+ Denis Flores, 24, of 2020 Scott Road, Augusta: no driver's license.
