Rev. Rockwell ordained
The Rev. Reuben L. "Ben" Rockwell was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons Feb. 3 at the 185th Diocesan Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia in Valdosta. Deacon Rockwell, second from left, is a member of St Michael's Episcopal Church and is the son of Rocky and Gail Rockwell and the grandson of Susie Garrett and Dr. Hugh and Eugenia Scott. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and will finish his theological studies at The Virginia Theological Seminary this May. He and his wife, Erin, plan to serve in the Diocese of Georgia upon graduation from seminary. The Sacred Order of Deacons is part of the three-fold ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church. Late this summer, Deacon Rockwell will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests.
