Road slick
Anthony Todd Oglesby, 33, escaped serious injury Monday when he lost control of his truck on Highway 24 East, just outside of Waynesboro, and crashed into a tree. Deputies believe the accident may have been caused by a slick substance that was found in the roadway. According to Major Larry Lewis of the Burke County Sheriff's Office, the substance was tracked from the nearby Burke County Landfill all the way back to the public school complex off Perimeter Road. Oglesby was transported to the Medical College of Georgia and released later that day. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
