Educators get A+ grants
First National Bank (FNB) of Waynesboro recently donated $1,000 to make Burke County classrooms even better. All teachers with A+ accounts are invited to apply for grants every fall and spring to cover the costs of classroom extras like science kits or books for the Accelerated Reader Program. The most recent recipients are SGA Elementary teacher James Gray, pictured above with Nan Palmer, FNB Community Relations Director, and Edmund Burke Academy teachers Kristy Smith, Kathy Ogden and Deborah Cockerham, pictured with Palmer below. The next round of applications will be accepted at the bank in March.
