Burke Happenings Genealogical society The Burke County Genealogical Society will hold its monthly meeting 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at the Burke County Library. The speaker will be Ginger Bolton, whose presentation will be about the World War II Veteran Oral History Project. The public is invited. Special needs support The Center for New Beginnings will hold its monthly Special Needs Support Group for caregivers of children and adults with special needs 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro. Tara Syms, an occupational therapist, will be the speaker and will share ideas for parents to help children with fine motor skills and self-help skills at home. The theme for this year’s Relay is “Relay For Life of Burke County Wants YOU to Come Join Our Circus,” and prizes will be awarded to those who wear the best decorated clown wig to the kickoff.
