Cubs win big in last home game
      The Burke County Middle School Cubs are rounding out their regular season schedule in style. The boys basketball team (6- 2, 5-1) played its final home game of the regular season last Wednesday and tamed the South Effingham Middle School Mustangs with a 44-7 victory.

      Jamie Walker, local drag racing champion, was named "Top Performer" by GoodYear tires Dec.8 at the 20th annual PRI show in Orlando, Fla. Walker was the only IHRA "No- Box" Track Champion in the southeast who won a title running GoodYear tires all season.
