Bears break Mustangs in 22-20 win
      The seniors on the team haven't thrown their helmets into the post-season ring since they started at Burke County High School. It's been six long seasons since the Bears earned a slot in the region play-off bracket, but this could be the year of their return.

Burke County runners claim top spots
      Burke County High School's cross country teams ran down top finishes last week. Burke County hosted Screven County and Jenkins County high schools for the meet. Darius Lakes and Joshua Jones crossed the finish line first and second in the boys division with their times of 19:49 and 19:50, respectively.

At Last EBA tackles its first win of the season
      It was a fight to the finish on Friday night, but the Spartans were finally victorious as they pulled a 24-16 win over Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School. The celebration began with less than a minute left on the clock, when Edmund Burke knew for sure they'd sealed the deal, and continued with the congratulatory cooler dumping on head coach Jerry Davis.

EBA Homecoming Court
     Nine young ladies have been chosen to serve on the 2007 Homecoming Court of Edmund Burke Academy. This Friday night, one of the three seniors, seated from left, Caroline Collins, Mallorie Bryan and Katie Kittrell, will be crowned homecoming queen during halftime festivities of EBA's football game against Memorial Day School. Other members of the court include, from left, standing: freshmen Megan Bailey and Ashley Chambers, sophomores Brooke Hargrove and Laney Lewis and juniors Sarah Mead and Emily Anne Bunn.
