Armed robbers strike again
      Waynesboro police have another armed robbery on their hands. Around 10:15 p.m. last Tuesday, two men with white T-shirts covering their faces held up the owner of El Cheapo on South Liberty Street. According to the police report, one of the men was brandishing a handgun.

      Copping a buzz A Burke County woman tried to help an inmate cop a buzz, but ended up getting busted by the fuzz. According to a report filed at the Burke County Sheriff's Office, 33-year-old Natasha Nobles dropped off a pair of hair clippers at the jail Tuesday and said they were for inmate Kendrick Johnson, who was arrested in June for burglary.

City partners with DUI/Drug Court
      Waynesboro officials have teamed up with State Court Judge Jerry Daniel to decrease drunk driving. Last Tuesday, city council unanimously agreed to begin referring municipal DUI and drug cases to Judge Daniel's DUI/Drug Court.

Man banned from collecting
      A man who pleaded guilty to 250 counts of unlawful artifact collecting was banned from hunting the precious relics in the state of Georgia for the next three years. Steven Wesley Collins, 50, of North Augusta, appeared in State Court Wednesday, Sept. 5, where he told Judge Jerry Daniel he simply didn't understand the law.

      Due to incorrect information provided to The True Citizen, an article that was published in last week's Blotter was not accurate. According to the article, a Burke County High School student was treated for a fractured nose after he was reportedly attacked on a school bus.
