      A posting on MySpace.com has caught up with a Sardis teen. Dusty Belk, 18, was arrested for interference with government property after Sardis Police Chief John Finley followed a tip to Belk's online profile. There, he found two photographs of a stolen Sardis Police Department sign.

Second clerk sentenced for underage beer sale

      A second convenience store clerk was slapped with a $1,000 fine and 12 months probation for selling beer to a 17-yearold. Gitaben DeSai, who works at her husband's North Liberty Street store, DJ Petro, appeared in municipal court Monday, along with the two officers and the teenage informant who all testified against her.

      Loaded Deputies are trying to figure out why a loaded down Cutlass was abandoned on River Road. Around 1 a.m. Wednesday an anonymous caller reported a white Cutlass was pushing a Gold Buick down the roadway. When deputies arrived, the drivers were gone but their stash wasn't.

Troopers release July statistics

      Georgia State Patrol troopers from the Sylvania Post investigated five accidents in Burke County last month. According to SFC S.D. Young, those accidents resulted in nine injuries and one death. During the month of July, troopers from Post 21 also issued 78 traffic citations in Burke County.
