When presenting Marsh with his award, 2006-07 president Johnny Jenkins said, "There wasn't any question as to who would be Exchangite of the Year this year," adding that Marsh is the best secretary the club has ever had. Each year, the club invites members of the Burke County Service Center to have a Christmas lunch while they receive gifts and a visit from Santa. Mallard and Coursey were both awarded for their involvement with this project, and upon accepting the award, Mallard acknowledged that while he had kept the program going, it was club member Richard Bailey who started it.
