State cuts supplements for principals
      Despite a 3 percent raise in their base pay, some principals in Georgia may actually take home less money next year. State-funded supplements to their salaries were cut by the General Assembly earlier this year in an effort to save about $5 million statewide. Local school boards must pick up the tab if they want their principals to continue receiving the additional pay.

Burke Medical gets filmless radiology
      Now, you can have x-rays taken at Burke Medical Center and have them immediately read by a specialist at Emory. Last week, 11 rural hospitals across Georgia were each awarded $80,000 grants to help them offer such services. Burke Medical Center (BMC) was one of the recipients.
