Wrestlers tackle Waynesboro
Organizers offer different take on traditional events
      Hulking wrestlers will take to the ring Saturday night to duke it out and deliver a message to their audience. Unlike most wrestling shows or events, though, organizers say their message includes Christian principles instead of threats and vulgar language.

Hunters must apply now for alligator, deer, waterfowl, turkey quota hunts
      The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) reminds hunters that quota hunt applications are now being accepted for the 2007-2008 seasons. Those selected are chosen solely from the online application pool (paper applications are no longer accepted), so interested hunters must apply online on the WRD website, www.gohuntgeorgia. com .

Good game
     At right, Bobby Gay hurls a pitch from the mound for the team of J.R. Johnson Construction during the last game of the regular season for the Burke County Recreation Department. The team took first place in the Midget Boys league with their record of 11-1. Burke County's girls and boys baseball and softball leagues finished up their regular seasons last week, and recreation department athletic manager Corey Dent said the top players in each league have already begun All Star play. The local All Star Midget Boys, Mite Girls fast pitch and Mite Boys will play the top players from other recreation departments in the coming weeks. Standings for Burke County leagues are listed below.
