Jefferson arsonists charged in Burke

      Three Jefferson County inmates have been charged with setting a string of fires in Burke County. Brandon Atkinson, 22, and Tara Renee Norton, 18, both of Blythe and Anthony Carl Hobbs, 19, of Matthews were extradited to Burke County Sunday on charges of arson in the second degree.

      A Dearing teenager was arrested last Monday for molesting a 10-year-old girl. Terry Dale Corey, 18, is charged with sodomy and child molestation.

      Hit, run and hide A drunk driver left a trail of car parts and engine oil for police to follow. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department last week, a Wadley man was stopped at a Waters Street stop sign when he was allegedly rammed by a Ford Tempo driven by Raul Galindo Barcenas.
