A 17-year-old has admitted to killing an Augusta man who stopped to give him a ride. Deandre Holmes, a Waynesboro teen, was arrested Sunday for the murder of 21-year-old Corey Joseph. An anonymous tip led officers to Holmes and his 18-year-old friend, Settron Bell, who also lives in Waynesboro, said Sgt. Richard Roundtree of the Richmond County Sheriff 's Office. More...

Five-month-old Robert Alan Wade Jr. gets one last hug before his dad, Robert Wade Sr., is deployed for Iraq. Wade Sr., an Army Specialist 4 for a striker unit out of Fort Lewis, Wash., will be fighting with his combat infantry unit and is not expected back home for 18-24 months. More than a week after an Easter weekend freeze, Dick Byne continues to survey the damage to his devastated blueberry crop. At this point, the local berry-producer is dealing with a 95 percent loss.
