Love throws Bears to first region win
      Brandon Love's arm proved too much for the Panthers last Friday. Love threw the Bears (8-4) to victory in their first region game of the season. They defeated Liberty County High School 3- 2 on the Panthers' home field. "He pitched well," Head Coach Todd Booker said of Love.

Golfers top Hephzibah, Greenbrier
      Burke County High School tucked a few more wins under their belt last week on the golf course. The girls and boys saw wins against Hephzibah and Greenbrier high schools. The girls toppled the Wolfpack last Wednesday at Bartram Trail Golf Club, beating them by 26 strokes.

B-team Spartans ride winning streak
      Edmund Burke Academy's Bteam Spartans are still undefeated on the diamond after upping their record, 11-0, with two wins at St Simons Island. The Spartans defeated Bulloch Academy 9-0 and Trinity Christian School 12-1.

      The Spartans (3-5, 1-2) won one and lost one last week as they continue their season on the diamond. They dropped their second region game to Bulloch Academy, 12-7, on Tuesday, March 20, and topped Curtis Baptist, 10-9, Saturday, March 24.

Golf team swings into second
      The Edmund Burke Academy golf team finished second in a tournament at the Dublin Country Club on Monday, garnering their best score yet on the course. They completed the day with 304 points, second to host school Trinity Christian Academy's score of 298. Pinewood Christian Academy shot 329.

      The Burke County Recreation Department midget boys team, for ages 10-12, finished their season in second place with an overall record of 6-2.
