Dogs track down burglary suspect
      An alleged burglar is in jail despite his attempt to foil the manhunt with his cell phone. Anthony Lamar Brown, 18, was arrested Thursday after running from deputies for nearly two hours. During the three weeks prior, there had been a string of burglaries, thefts and car break-ins in the Thompson Bridge and Bates Road area.

Husband stabbed, wife is arrested
      A domestic dispute over a tax refund ended with a kitchen knife. James Edward Gadson, 66, of Waynesboro was taken to the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) early Thursday after his wife allegedly stabbed him in the chest.

Drive-through
      The driver behind the wheel of a stolen car tried to drive though Thomas Grocery on Sunday. Deputies arrived to find the running vehicle about three and half feet inside the Thompson Bridge Road store with no driver to be found.

      The following arrests and citations were reported last week by the Waynesboro Police Department: Monday, March 19 + Precious Ann Elmore, 57, of 121 East Hale St., Augusta, was arrested on four felony counts of negotiating fraudulent checks.

Burke County Sheriff's Office
      The following arrests were reported last week by the Burke County Sheriff's Office: Friday, March 23 + Reginald Maurice Hudson, 37, of 3347 Thames Place, Hephzibah, was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, DUI (marijuana) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

      Flying objects A Waynesboro man called police after his exgirlfriend allegedly threw a steak knife at him. The victim told officers he was riding around with friends when they pulled over to talk to someone on Ward Street. While they were stopped, his ex-girlfriend allegedly ran toward the car and threw the steak knife through an open window.
