Miss Allen to wed Mr. Folker July 7
      Mr. and Mrs. Karl Edward Allen of Waynesboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Kellie Elizabeth, to Philip Dustin Folker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edward Folker of Waynesboro and the late Dian Folker. The wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

Lee/Jackson banquet held
      The B/G John C. Carter, Camp 207, Sons of Confederate Veterans sponsored its annual Lee/Jackson banquet at the Burke County Office Park recently. Camp Commander Frank Lackman welcomed 127 members and guests for the occasion.

      Soldiers recuperating in a hospital overseas will soon get a special package from Waynesboro. The Edmund Burke Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution collected nearly 1,000 items to send to military personnel at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

Ellison promoted to Colonel
      Burke County native Frank Ellison was recently promoted to Colonel in the United State Army Reserve. Following the ceremony, he was honored with a celebration given by family and friends. COL Ellison's first military duty was enlisted as an Infantryman; he was later commissioned an officer - 2nd LT, in 1982.
