North Liberty businesses troubled by teens again
      After four quiet months, unruly teens caused another uproar in north Waynesboro. Police were called to McDonald's around 10 p.m. Friday when a crowd of approximately 100 took over the parking lot and restaurant. Waynesboro Police officers called for backup after the teens challenged orders to disperse and doused one officer with Sprite.

Troopers release January stats
      Georgia State Patrol troopers from the Sylvania Post investigated five accidents in Burke County last month. According to SFC S.D. Young, those accidents resulted in seven injuries and one death. During the month of January, troopers from Post 21 also issued 47 traffic citations in Burke County.

Former firefighter banned from station
      A former Waynesboro firefighter was banned from the fire station after showing up there intoxicated. Former Lt. Leroy Lambert, 35, had already been laid-off by the City of Waynesboro after his March 2006 arrest for drunk driving and a citation two months later for driving with a suspended license.

      If at first you don't succeed A juvenile boy was taken into custody after allegedly trying to steal a golf cart for a second time. According to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department, witnesses say they found the offender hiding in the bushes of their Kingston Drive home after they saw two other young black males driving their neighbor's golf cart.

      The following arrests and citations were reported last week by the Waynesboro Police Department: Tuesday, Jan. 30 + Tracey Antonio Attaway, 35, of 503 College St., Waynesboro, was arrested for stalking (Family Violence Act). Saturday, Feb. 3 + Willie Jordan III, 49, of 803 Davis Road, Apt. 502, Waynesboro, was arrested for operating a vehicle with suspended registration.

Burke County Sheriff's Office
      The following arrests were reported last week by the Burke County Sheriff's Office: Tuesday, Jan. 30 + William Thomas Harrison, 40, of 2215 Kilabrew Ave., Augusta, was arrested for simple assault, harassing phone calls and criminal trespass (Family Violence Act). A $3,900 property bond was posted.
