From the Blotter

Stop staring

A local woman called police last week when her neighbor wouldn't quit staring at her.

According to a report, the man stood in front of the woman's residence and would not speak.

She added that she had caught him in her yard at night peeping into her bathroom window before, but he would run away when she saw him.

She also complained of damage to her property and rocks being thrown into her yard.

She said that when she returned from a "night out" two weeks prior, she noticed two posts missing from the back of the residence.

Road rage

A bad case of road rage apparently provoked a Burke County driver to fire a gun and hurl items at another car Sunday.

A deputy reported that he was dispatched to Farmers Bridge Road in response to a complaint from the driver being chased. The deputy was unable to locate either driver.

Rough ride

Two drivers pointed to pot holes on Waynesboro streets when their cars were damaged last week.

A woman reported damage to her car's front tire after she struck a hole on West 13th Street last Sunday.

Another driver reported damage to his car after hitting a hole at the intersection of West Eighth Street and Cedar Street. Two of his tires and rims were damaged.

Freedom of speech

A man exercised his right to free speech last Friday by picketing in front a Waynesboro shop.

Officers reported to Citi Trends when a customer stood outside the store with a sign suggesting patrons not shop there.

Officers explained that the man had a right to protest, as long as he did so from an appropriate distance.
