Mrs. Anita G. Garner Anita G. Garner passed away Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church with Fr. Steve Rice officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Gardens. The family received friends 5- 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2006 at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home. Mrs. Garner was born in Portland, Maine, and had been a long-time resident of Waynesboro. She was a member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. In her younger years, she was very active in the Women’s Golf Association and devoted to the Waynesboro Humane Society because of her love for animals. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John F. Garner “Jack”; son, Frederick F. Garner (Katie) of Waynesboro; daughter, Deborah G. Beesley of Loganville; four grandchildren, Marie Smith and her husband, Jeff, and Reed Garner, all of Augusta, Molly Garner of Waynesboro and Will Beesley of Loganville; and a great-granddaughter, Kate Smith. Pallbearers were Reed Garner, Will Beesley, Frank Griffin, Jack Brantley, Lindner Odom Jr., Larry Askew and Lamar Murray. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Bi-Lo Coffee Club.
