Ellis headed to Dome
A former Burke County resident will see his childhood dreams come true as he heads to the Georgia Dome for high school football state playoffs. Bryan Ellis, a senior, is the starting quarterback for the Peach County High School Trojans, the reigning Class AAA champions. Going into last Friday's game against Hart County, Bryan, who had transferred just this year from Tiftarea Academy, had thrown 26 touchdowns against two interceptions and held a team record with 2,969 yards passing. He led his team to a 23- 20 victory over Hart County, ensuring the Trojans a spot in the playoffs at the Dome. Bryan is the son of Ricky Ellis and Sandi Shields, both former residents of Waynesboro.
