Man shot at Pecan Chase

      A Waynesboro man says he was shot by a gunman hiding in the bushes at a local apartment complex. Tavares Habersham, 26, was shot in the thigh around 10 p.m. last Tuesday, according to a report filed at the Waynesboro Police Department.

Armed robbery suspect in custody

      A Waynesboro teen wanted for the Nov. 16 armed robbery of Golden Pantry has been arrested. Jamarion Jawain Hughes, 17, turned himself in to police Monday morning and was charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

GSP releases November stats

      Georgia State Patrol troopers from the Sylvania Post investigated 11 accidents in Burke County last month. According to SFC S.D. Young, those accidents resulted in 18 injuries and two deaths. During the month of November, troopers from Post 21 also issued 47 traffic citations in Burke County.
