Mr. Grady Mobley

Grady Mobley, 87, of Baxley entered into rest Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at Appling Healthcare System.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Nov. 29) in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Ten Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Mobley was born Aug. 21, 1919 in Burke County to the late W. O. and Jenny Bonnell Mobley. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture and was a member of First Baptist Church. He was also

a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Invasion of Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Purple Heart and a distinguished Medal of Honor.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Julia Nell and Wally Shaw of Perry; a son, William Johnson "Jay" Mobley of Baxley; brother-in-law, Ranville J. Fossett of Alma; and three grandchildren, Catheryn Shaw, Claire Shaw and Jim Shaw, all of Perry.

Swain Funeral Home Inc. of Baxley is in charge of services.
