Another victim of the wrecking ball
     The Roy F. Chalker Bridge was demolished last week in an effort to make room for the Savannah River Parkway. The bridge was constructed in 1958, carrying traffic over Brier Creek for nearly 50 years. In its place will stand two bridges, one each for northbound and southbound traffic. Shown, crews work to remove the old bridge while traffic drives along what will be the southbound lane.
