Lowe's scholarship awarded
     Tina Hensley, an accounting student at Augusta Technical College Waynesboro/Burke campus, was recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship from Lowe's through the Lowe's Scholars Program. Hensley was one of 10 students to be recognized with a scholarship. Now in its third year, the program has provided $60,000 in scholarship support to Augusta Tech students. First Baptist VBS
     Nine-year-old Thomas Griffin, left, meticulously applies glue to his craft project as Gabriel Veldboom, 9, examines his own handiwork. The two were in Melanie Powell's third grade class at First Baptist Church's Vacation Bible School (VBS) last week. The church's VBS ran Monday through Friday and averaged 170 children each day, ranging in age from 3 years to fifth grade.
