Bears beat up Tigers in five
     Burke County pounded the Claxton Tigers last Saturday before driving rains put an end to the Bryan County Diamond Day in Pembroke. The Bears swatted the Tigers 14-3 in five innings.

Bears Basketball players honored
     Several Burke County basketball players recently received recognition for their efforts and performance on the court. Seniors Antonio Jackson and Shakara Harden were both named to the Region 3-AAA All-Region Second Team.

Lady Bears win on home course
     Burke County's girls golf team shot 104 to win the CSRA tournament held at Waynesboro Country Club March 28. Five other teams competed in the event with Richmond Academy placing second with 111.
