Mrs. Juanita Widner



Mrs. Madie Juanita Widner of Sardis died at home Wednesday Aug. 31, 2005.

Funeral services were held Saturday Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in the Sardis United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy White, Dr. G. Al Wright and the Rev. Karen Zeigler officiating. Burial followed at Sardis Baptist Cemetery.

She was born in Screven County on Feb. 9, 1929 to the late Manuel and Lizzie Maebell Howard Williams. She retired from the Burke County Board of Education where she worked as a bus driver and lunch room administrator. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the Sardis UMC Senior Group.

Mrs. Widner was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wesley Widner, and brothers, Robbie Lee Williams, Eddie Williams, Warren Williams and Frank Williams. ,

She is survived by daughters, Debra Kile of Sardis, Judy W. Reddick (Ronnie) of Waynesboro, Martha W. Hannah (John) of Midville, Rebecca W. Reddick (Hubert) of Sardis; a son, Glenn W. Widner Jr. (Kathy) of Keysville; sisters, Ada Weeks (Daniel) of Kingsland, Ga., Linda Copeland, Virginia Beach, Va.; brothers, Jesse Williams (Roberta), Dover, Del.; John Henry Williams (Josephine), of Mrs. Juanita Widner

Salem, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Nichole Omar (Francis), Wes Widner (Beth), Steve Reddick (Kim), Lynn Thompson (Tracy), Greg Hannah, Robbie Hannah, Daniel Hannah, Hilton Ward, Ronda Reddick and Kim Reddick; eight great grandchildren Devon, Tres and Gage Omar, Brittany, Trent and Ashlyn Reddick, Jackson Thompson and Kylee Widner.

Pallbearers were Mrs.Widner’s grandsons, Wes Widner, Steve Reddick, Greg Hannah, Robbie Hannah, Daniel Hannah and Hilton Ward. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Coursey, James Hollingsworth and her sons-in-law.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday Sep. 2, at the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel.
