Edmund Burke Academy’s 2005-2006 Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad recently attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp held June 28-July 1, at Jekyll Island.

The squad, sponsored by Pam Dixon, was rewarded for their long hours of practice and dedication.

Their outstanding performance in the following areas is an indication of how well they work together. In competing against other schools, the team received trophies for Most Improved Middle School and Superior Rating for Middle School. They also received ribbons for Cheer Evaluation – excellent and superior – and Dance Evaluation – two superiors.

Sammy Seay qualified for the All-Star Team which will perform at Walt Disney World during the week of Thanksgiving.

"This was the first time that these girls have attended camp. Considering the number of schools in attendance, their performance was outstanding," Dixon said. "I am proud of my girls, and I am confident of their continued efforts."
